WPS Spreadsheet allows you to quickly set up a functional timesheet that helps individuals and tiny teams record daily work hours without relying on advanced applications

Open wps office下载 Spreadsheet and select the option to create a new, untitled spreadsheet

Initialy, assign descriptive titles to the top row: Date, Start Time, End Time, Break Duration, Total Hours, and Notes

These headers will organize your data and make it easier to read and update

After setting headers, widen each column so no text gets cut off

Click and drag the boundary between column letters at the top of the spreadsheet to widen them as needed

For the Date column, format the cells to display dates in a clear format like YYYY-MM-DD by selecting the cells, right-clicking, choosing Format Cells, and then selecting Date from the list

Format the Start Time and End Time cells using the Time setting to validate entries like 09 00 and 17 30

To calculate Total Hours, use a simple formula in the first cell under the Total Hours header

If your Start Time is in column B, End Time in column C, and Break in column D, type = (C2 - B2 - D2) 24 into the Total Hours cell

This formula subtracts the start time and break time from the end time and converts the result from days to hours by multiplying by 24

Ensure every time input follows the 24-hour clock format to guarantee accurate results

Once the formula is entered, hit Enter and drag the small square at the bottom-right corner of the cell down the column

To accommodate several workers or repeated daily logs, insert a new column titled Employee Name before the Date column

This addition enables quick identification of each employee’s entries and streamlines data organization

Use the Notes field to jot down quick annotations such as "Overtime", "Holiday", or "Sick Leave"

Improve the appearance by applying borders around all cells and making the header row bold

Select the header row, click the Bold button on the toolbar, and then use the Borders tool to draw lines around each cell

Add a subtle background shade to the header row to create clear visual separation from data rows

Always save frequently and label your file informatively, e.g., Employee Timesheet October 2024

Before printing, access Print Preview, then tweak margins and scaling settings to ensure full visibility

Select the rows you want to print and assign them as the Print Area for targeted output

Finally, establish a routine for updating the timesheet

Encourage team members to enter their hours daily to avoid discrepancies and forgotten details

To reuse this setup easily, save it as a WPS Template (.etl) file for future use

You’ll be able to generate fresh versions each month with no need to recreate columns or formulas

With this simple setup, you now have a reliable, easy-to-maintain timesheet that requires no special software or extensive training
