PUBG is not the first battle royale in the existence of this overblown, saturated genre. But it was without a doubt one of the first to popularize it and shape it into what it is today. Many of the devs for PUBG even worked on the H1Z1 Survival Mode, the game mode that quite literally made the blueprint for modern battle royale. __ So in many rights it's hard not to see that Fortnite rode the coattails of PUBG, adding a handful of different elements to perfect the game. Still, I've put way more hours into PUBG, but when it comes to the better overall game... you'll just have to decide that for yours


But player counts don't mean everything, and if we're still talking numbers, than PUBG mobile's player count of 400 million truly takes the cake. Statistics finally aside, it's time to tackle the meat and potatoes of these two games and decide which one is a truly battle royale k


While we take great joy in comparing these two battle royale titans, Fortnite really should be in a different league of it's own. PUBG Skins is a traditional battle royale game, but Fortnite is not only battle royale, but Minecraft too. In the game you have to gather supplies and build to survive -- it's honestly quite bizarre when you really exam it. In the middle of a heated battle you could be mining for stone and build a four-story house. UMP9: The UMP9 is a good all-around SMG that can go the distance with any match. Even though it eats bullets like popcorn, it uses 9mm bullets which are scattered all over the map like Christmas candy. So, players will clearly have no shortage of ammunition with it. It's most deadly at close to medium range and can be effective at chewing up other players' health status'. It's maybe not the best at using it as a primary weapon, but it's a handsome choice as a secondary


SCAR-L: Players who don't fancy "single-shots" with assault rifles will most likely cling onto the SCAR-L due to its impressive rate of rapid-fire. It's the most effective rifle when it comes to "mowing down" other players it can do hefty damage. PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds offers the chance to explore and scrap through the three gigantic maps of Miramar, Erangel, and Sanhok–with Vikendi having just recently entered the Public Test Server to boot. One's tasked with scrounging for consumables, armor, and weapons to survive matches populated with up to 100 players, as a storm circle slowly encroaches and forces those still alive to duke it out in tense, ever-closer firefights. Aside from the haphazard messiness of the controls, one major asset of PUBG on PS4 is the dependable and realistic quality of the shooting itself, as it generally feels solid no matter which of the wealth of different guns and weapon modifications players wield. Nevertheless, basic movement and evasive maneuvers–especially when in vehicles–can occasionally be unreliable and ineffective, with the floaty feel of jumping being among the worst offenders. Naturally, this hampers the inherently pleasurable nature of getting to use the actual firing mechanics when a firefight does break out. Plus, accessing menus on the fly is incredibly unintuitive, with the poor quality of their designs and layouts often prompting confusion and frustration. With this being the case, the PlayStation 4 iteration of the title doesn't offer too much incentive for players to stick around for more than a few matches at a time, thus hindering its overall replay val


S686: When it comes to shotguns, there's no doubt that the S686 is the king regarding its damage. Its double-barrel can bog down players during reloading times, which makes them sitting ducks. However, one well-placed shot with both barrels on a single opponent will quickly reduce them into oatmeal. It's not recommended taking on more than one opponent with this shotgun, however. Switching to a sidearm during combat can buy players enough time to escape to behind cover and safely reload the shotgun.
