Claiming a New York City Real Residential Or Commercial Property Transfer Tax Exemption for Transfers to or from Housing Development Fund Companies (HDFC) - Using ACRIS to create NYC-RPT
Beginning August 19, 2016, taxpayers might be qualified to claim a complete or partial Real Residential or commercial property Transfer Tax exemption for transfers of real residential or commercial property, or financial interests therein, to or from Housing Development Fund Companies, or entities in which a Housing Development Fund Company owns a managing interest (collectively referred to as an "HDFC Transfer") under Section 11-2106( b)( 9) of the Administrative Code of the City of New York (the "HDFC Exemption").


Effective March 24, 2017, the NYC-RPT type has been revised to include:


1. A new Condition of Transfer w. Transfer to an HDFC or an entity managed by an HDFC
2. A new Schedule L - HDFC Exemption
